During our period of closure in response to the novel coronavirus, New York residents can apply for a library card through the SimplyE app and gain access to an array of digital resources—including e-books, audiobooks, databases, and more—plus borrow physical materials through our temporary Grab & Go service.

This list includes databases, collections and search tools, selected by Smithsonian Libraries staff, that Access to library collections book freely available via the Internet.

Smithsonian staff and other affiliated persons can access the Libraries' subscription databases and e-journals via our A-Z List (from the SI computer network or remote access.).
